Barbara Jean Winchell, 81, of Bay City, died Thursday, May 22, 2014, at home with her family by her side. She was born December 24, 1932, in Bay City, the daughter of Clarence and Hannah Donaldson. Barbara loved to play cards and BINGO. She also loved to bowl with her friends. Most of all, Barbara loved to spend time with her family and cherished every moment spent with them. Barbara will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she will be remembered fondly. Barbara is survived by: her son, Ray (Susan) Winchell III of Bay City; her grandchildren, Crystal (Chris Wright) Winchell of Essexville, Nichole (Joe) Schmitt of Carlton, Ray (Angi) Winchell IV of Bay City, Randall Winchell of Bay City, and Daniel Wright III of Virginia; her great-grandchildren, Halie Davis of Bay City, Logan Davis of Bay City, Breona Kozik of Essexville, Amber Zins of Carlton, Sarai Winchell of Bay City, Sevaeh Winchell of Bay City, Evan Schmitt of Carlton; a great-granddaughter on the way, Laiyla Schmitt; her sister, Janet Shepard of Bay City; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In 1953, in Bay City, Barbara married Ray Winchell Jr. who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by: her parents; her siblings, Richard Donaldson, Harold Donaldson, Darlene Badgerow, and Joyce Winchell; and many brothers and sisters-in-law. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, in Hampton Twp., with Chaplain Doug Bassett officiating. Visitation will be held from 2-8 PM, Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with final expenses.
