Bernice H. Schoen

Passed away Sunday December 9, 2012. Age 83 years. Bernice Helen Bader was born September 20, 1929 in Tuscola County to the late George and Helen (Bruissee) Bader. She married Arnold Schoen January 13, 1951 in Saginaw at St. John Lutheran Church. They shared 62 years together and he survives her. Bernice was an active lifetime member of St. John Lutheran Church, where she was involved with Sunday school and preparing funeral dinners. Bernice had been employed by K-Mart and the Bavarian Inn, where she worked as a bookkeeper and bartender. She worked for K-Mart for 17 years, and was a member of the K-Mart retirees group. Surviving besides her husband Arnie, are her daughters Marcia (Wayne) Andersen and Elizabeth Wildmo; three granddaughters, Jennifer, Stephanie, and Amanda; her daughter-in-law Beth Schoen; and many other loving family members and friends. Bernice was predeceased by her son Steve Schoen in 2010, her daughter Judy Papendick in 2007, her granddaughter Heather Andersen in 1994, and her son-in-law Michael Kinney in 1992.Funeral service will take place 11 AM Friday December 14, 2012 at St. John Lutheran Church, 915 Federal Ave. at 2nd Street in Saginaw. Pastor Michael Kemper will officiate. Interment will take place at Tuscola Township Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Rd. (South M-47) on Thursday December 13, 2012 from 12 Noon until 8 PM and at the church on Friday one hour before the service. Memorial offerings are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church.
