Beth Ann Becker

Beloved wife and mother joined the Lord in Heaven on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the age of 54. Beth was born to Ronald C. and Lillie M. (Gehrcke) Reimers on April 24, 1959. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1977 and Central Michigan University in 1983. Beth later obtained a Masters of Arts in Teaching degree from Saginaw Valley State University in 2004. She married Jeffrey A. Becker on September 20, 1986, and was a proud mother of two sons, Eric and Andrew. As a family, they spent as much time as possible boating and enjoying summers at their cottage on Lake Huron, near Tawas, Michigan. Beth was a devoted special education teacher at Carrollton Middle School where she inspired her students to be their best. She had a special place in her heart for those less fortunate. Beth enjoyed watching Detroit Red Wings and Saginaw Spirit hockey games and was previously a billet host to Saginaw Spirit hockey players. Beth was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Saginaw.Beth is survived by her husband, Jeff, and her two sons, Eric D. Becker (Cody Witter), and Andrew R. Becker, both of Saginaw; her parents, Ronald C. and Lillie M. Reimers; two brothers, Charles (Elizabeth) Reimers, and Alan (Charlotte) Reimers, both of Saginaw; a sister, Peggy (Scott) Powlus of Canton Twp, Michigan; mother-in-law Bonnie Becker; brother-in-law Brian (Betsy) Becker of Rockford, Michigan; four aunts, Laraine (Arthur) Paquette, Ruth Reimers, Betty (John R.) Doyle, and Lucille (LaVerne) Dubay, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Beth was preceded in death by her grandparents Floyd and Marie Reimers, Adolph and Lillie Gehrcke; her uncle Dr. Gerald Reimers, and her father-in-law David Becker. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 2210 Brockway Road. Pastor Kathleen A. Basner will officiate. Family and friends may visit at the Reitz-Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Road (S. M-47) on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm and at the church on Thursday one hour before the funeral.
