Betsy R. Marks

Passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2009. Age 90 years. Betsy R. Bates was born May 26, 1919. She married Walter W. Marks on April 15, 1946. He preceded her in death on March 11, 1979. Mrs. Marks was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 7302. She worked for Hemlock Dry Cleaners for 24 years. Surviving are her sons Michael (Edna) Marks of Midland, Walter (Wanda) Marks, Jr., Escondido, CA, 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, 1 sister Patricia Stapleton of Hemlock, and many other loving family members and friends. Betsy was predeceased by 2 sons Thomas and Richard, and 1 daughter Kay, and 1 sister Anita Fox and 2 brothers, Marlin and Perry Bates. Funeral and committal service will take place 2PM Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009 at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 Midland Rd. (South M47). Rev. Robert Richards will officiate with interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to call on the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 10AM until the time of service at 2PM. Memorial envelopes are available at the funeral home.
