Betty J. Stevenson

betty stevenson
Betty J. Stevenson, 83, of Bay City, our generous, loving, and most compassionate mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, May 8, 2017 at her home. Betty was born in Saginaw on July 10, 1933, the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Herman) Blehm. She was united in marriage on June 27, 1953to  Carl Stevenson, who sadly preceded her in death on May 1, 1999. Throughout life, Betty was known for her kind and caring ways. She worked in the nursing field and was a dedicated homemaker. Always one who loved the outdoors, Betty was most at peace spending time in her yard and tending to the vegetables in her garden. She had a natural green thumb for her rosebushes and cherished all that Michigan summers had to offer. Be it spending time camping, or taking the motor home to Florida and Arizona, Betty will forever be remembered for her love of traveling, bowling, crocheting, and knitting. She will be deeply missed, but lovingly remembered for generations to come. Betty leaves to cherish her memory her two children: Diane Biskner and James (Ann) Stevenson. She was the most loving grandmother of Cindy (Todd) Lynch, Jason (Stacy) Biskner, Ashley (Carol) Stevenson, Abigail (Kathy) Stevenson, Jacob Stevenson, and the great-grandmother of Hailey and Chase Lynch and Addison and Benjamin Stevenson. In addition to her parents and her husband, Betty was welcomed home to heaven by her sister, Lillian Kostus and Brother, Robert (Arlene) Blehm. Betty's family will be present to receive visitors on Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 1:30 PM until the time of her 5:00 PM Life Celebration at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. A reception will immediately follow in The Wesley Room at Skorupski's. Private interment will be held in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Essexville-Hampton Lions Club or the Humane Society of Bay County. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
