Beverly Schrader, born to brighten the days of those who crossed her path and caregiver to the least of us, passed away July 25, 2014. Age 86 years. Bev was born to Stan and Alma Sheppard in Marine City on November 14, 1927. She married Ben Schrader on September 4, 1948. He passed away in 1994. Bev leaves four children; Dan (Richelle) Schrader, Randy (Jean) Schrader, Mike Schrader, and a daughter Dawn Curtis, seven grandchildren; Traci, Tonya, Tiffany, Brandon, Brecka, Montana, and McKenzie, and 11 great grandchildren. Bev was predeceased by two sisters; Donna Lampel and Marcia VanElsacker, and a brother Jim Sheppard. After raising her children in Carrollton, Bev moved to Tawas City in 1986 where she battled nature. She was a founding member of Tawas Area Presbyterian Church. She made friends everywhere and anywhere, especially at church and on her daily walks in the neighborhood. Alzheimer's diminished her active life in recent years, but not her infectious smile. The smile was always there, and always will be. The Schrader family would like to thank Judy Jackson, Rev. Ken Parker and the staff at Meadow View Manor for providing Bev with companionship and comfort during her more trying and interesting times. She will be missed. Rev. Jan Chambers will officiate the funeral service at 11AM Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Road (S. M-47). Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome to gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 29th from 3:30 PM to 8:30PM, and on Wednesday one hour before the funeral. Memorial offerings are suggested to Tawas Area Presbyterian Church. To send flowers or a remembrance gift to the family of Beverly Schrader, please visit our Tribute Store.
