Brian William Goodwin

June 2, 2017
Brian William Goodwin, 43, of Essexville, our hilarious and caring son, brother, nephew, cousin, and loyal friend was born into eternal life naturally on the evening of Friday, June 2, 2017 at McLaren Bay Region following a courageous struggle. Brian was born in Bay City on October 23, 1973, the son of Robert and Darlene (Lawrence) Goodwin. He was a 1992 graduate of All Saints and went on to continue his studies at Northern Michigan University. Brian was employed as a substitute teacher. With a personality that would light up the entire room, Brian was known for his quick wit and excellent sense of humor. He was a kind and compassionate man with a heart of gold. Brian enjoyed golfing and loved spending time outdoors. This love for the outdoors led him to his previous jobs at Acadia National Park in Washington State and Jackson Hole in Wyoming. Brian also loved music of all kinds and enjoyed reading. He leaves to cherish his memory, his father, Robert Goodwin and siblings: Cheryl Goodwin and Kevin Goodwin. He is also survived by his uncle, Richard Lawrence; aunts, Pat Walmsley and Linda Myers; cousins, Jennifer Goodwin and Amie Goodwin-Dockett, along with many extended family and friends. Brian was welcomed home to heaven by his mother, Darlene Goodwin and uncles, Jim Goodwin and William Goodwin. A Tribute Ceremony will be announced at a later date. Final arrangements have been entrusted to Skorupski’s. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
