Catherine A. Salow

Salow, Catherine Saginaw, Michigan Our beloved mother passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2001. Age 93 years. Catherine A. Hirschman was born April 25, 1918 in Saginaw to Ralph and Edna (Nickodemus) Hirschman. She married John (Jack) Salow on May 20, 1940. They shared 61years together. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2001. Mrs. Salow was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church for many years, and later was active with Grace Lutheran Church in Saginaw. She was employed as a secretary at the Michigan Life Insurance Company for many years. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends, gardening, flowers, traveling, crocheting, cards, reading and golf. Surviving are her children Cassie (Mel) Leeck of Alpena, Carol (Jim) Todd of Portland, John (Debbie) Salow of Saginaw, Gary (Snolorig) of Florida, 12 grandchildren; Tony, Tim, Dan, David, Julie, Heidi, Melissa, Matt, Kristi, Stephanie, Lisa and Mike, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, a brother in law Robert (Carolyn) Garrison, several nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by one sister, three grandchildren and 2 brothers in law, and 1 sister in law. Funeral service will take place 1PM Thursday, August 25 , 2011 at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Rd (S-M47). Rev. David Birnbaum will officiate with interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends and family are welcome to gather at the funeral home on Thursday from 10AM until the time of service. Memorial offerings are suggested to the Cartwright Hospice Care Center, or the American Cancer Society.
