Cecilia R. Smith

Went to be with God December 7, 2010 following a short illness. Age 78 years. Cecilia Ruth Bashans was born November 4, 1932 in Hayfield, Iowa to the late Sam and Katherine (Shock) Bashans. She followed the Christian Family Fellowship Ministry and had much love and commitment to her faith and ministry of God’s Word. Cecilia also loved to garden and spend time with her family. She retired from St. Lukes Hospital where she was employed as a nurse. Surviving are one brother, Jacob Bashans; two sons, Robert Yelle of Mississippi, and Mark Yelle; three daughters, Kimberly (Michael) Turner of Saginaw, Elizabeth Nugent of Virginia, and Melissa Smith of Saginaw; nine grandchildren, Michael II (Tina) Turner, of Saginaw, Christopher Turner of Los Angeles, CA, Katie (John) Turner Witkowski of Geneva, IL, Joshua Turner of Houston, TX, Robert Yelle, Jr. of Mississippi, David Yelle of New York, Daniel Yelle of Florida, Rachel Nugent of Virginia, and Michael Nugent of Virginia; seven great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many brothers and sisters in Christ.A memorial service will take place 1PM Friday, December 10, 2010 at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home on S. Midland Road (M47). Debi Pilot will officiate. Friends and family are welcome to gather at the funeral home from 11AM until the time of service.
