Chad Ryan Scharich, age 26, of Essexville, our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend entered heaven on the morning of Thursday, April 25, 2013 at McLaren Bay Region after a courageous battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma with his family by his side. Chad was born in Bay City on January 11, 1987, the son of Layne and Diane (Grawburg) Scharich. He was a 2005 graduate of Garber High School, where he was active with golf, track and bowling. Chad worked at Jack's Fruit & Meat Mkt. on Salzburg and was a student at Delta College. He enjoyed sports (loved golf), video games, camping and spending time at the casino playing blackjack. Chad's love for his family and friends, his dogs, Sidney and Comet and his strong will, yet kind nature will live on in the hearts of those he touched. Chad is survived by his loving parents, Layne and Diane Scharich of Essexville; sisters, Jennifer (R.C.) Derocher and Maggie (Austin Riley) Scharich; grandparents, Glen and Pauline Scharich and his aunts and uncles, Lori (Mike) Periard, Linda (Bill) Leahy, Scott (Lori) Scharich, Lisa (David) Ray, Chuck (Michele) Grawburg, Bev (Dean) Eddy and Donnie (Kim) Grawburg. Chad was the loving uncle of Gianna Derocher and a dear cousin and friend to many. Chad was welcomed home to heaven by his grandparents, Donald and Aline Grawburg. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. Visitation will continue on Monday, April 29, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Chad's Funeral Ceremony at 11:00 a.m. at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1705 Nebobish, Essexville. Rev. Carl F. Trosien will officiate. Memorial contributions in memory of Chad may be directed to the wishes of the family.
