Basketball was another favorite, playing in the city leagues, guiding the teams to championships locally and state wide. Watching college sports was a favorite pastime, as well as watching the Detroit Tigers, Pistons, and Lions. Golf became a passion for him, playing in different leagues, going to Myrtle Beach and Laughlin, NV with longtime friends. To find Charlie, you had to check the local golf courses, Beech Hollow was a favorite place, riding his cart, looking for lost balls and retrieving hundreds of them. Another favorite was going to Fuzzy's on Tuesday mornings to gather with former golf and softball players for breakfast. Charlie also was a life time member of The Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame and the VFW Post #439.
