Charles S. Knights

Knights, Jr., Charles "Sam" Saginaw,Michigan Passed away Thursday June 14, 2012. Age 90 years. Charles S. Knights was born August 1, 1921 in Saginaw to Charles S. Knights Sr. and Mabel Peters. He married Eunice Perry June 12, 1943. They shared 69 years together. She survives him. Mr. Knights was of the Lutheran Faith. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Normandy invasion. He retired from General Motors after 23 years of service, and was a member of the VFW Post 7302. Surviving besides his wife he leaves his daughter Susan (Jim) Lown, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and many other loving family members and friends. Charles was preceded in death by his brother Oliver Knights, his sisters Leah Dugan, Sally Prior, Donna Oehring, and a step son Gary Gunther. The family extends a special thank you to St. Mary's ICU Dr's. Case and Harpal Singh and nursing staff Steve, Sara and Alicia. Funeral service will take place 1PM Monday, June 18, 2012 at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Rd (S-M47). Chaplain Doug Bassett will officiate with Interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. VFW Post 7302 will officiate with military honors. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be from 11AM until the time of service.
