Coral June Irish

Coral June "Corky" Irish, 74, of Bay City, our loving and caring wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend was born into eternal life on the evening of Monday, June 6, 2016 at Brookdale Senior Assisted Living in Bay City. Corky was born in Northport, Michigan on June 28, 1941, the daughter of the late Warren and Anna (Thomas) Kelcherman. While in school, she met a gentleman by the name of Dennis Irish. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on June 2, 1962 in St. John's Church by Fr. G.H. Hietpas. Their marriage was blessed with four children, countless memories, and fifty-four years. Corky enjoyed crafts of all sorts, knitting, sewing, bowling, playing Scrabble, and her occasional trips to the casino and bingo. Above all else, her family was her true pride and joy. She was a Jill of all trades, and her sense of humor and fun personality will be deeply missed. In addition to her husband, Dennis, Corky leaves to cherish her memory her three daughters: Denise (Tim) Ruszkowski, Patty (Conrad) Douglas, and Heather Irish. She was the loving and supportive grandma of Brandon Ruszkowski, Michael Douglas, and Alicia Douglas. She is also survived by her brother, Jerry Kelcherman and in-laws, Phillip (Peggy) Irish and Claudette Huggard. In addition to her parents, Corky was welcomed home to heaven by her infant son, Michael Dennis Irish; father and mother-in-law, Arthur and Phyllis Irish, and in-laws, Larry (Joyce) Irish and Gordy Huggard. Corky's family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 11:00 AM until the time of her 12:00 Noon Tribute Ceremony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate with the Rite of Committal to follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. The entire family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Theresa, LeeAnn, and Jeff of Compassus Hospice, the entire staff of Brookdale - Bay City, Dr. Jonathan Abramson, Penny from the Karmanos Cancer Center, and special friend, Tracy Lather.
