February 22, 1952 ~ January 13, 2016
Curt Donohue Devendorf, 63, of Bay City, our devoted and giving husband, father, grandpa, and papa went home to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at his home. Curt was born in Saginaw on February 22, 1952, the son of the late Col. Curtis and Doris (Donohue) Devendorf. Curt proudly served during Vietnam with the U.S. Air Force and eventually his career path led him to Saginaw County Community Mental Health, where he was a talented Psychotherapist. At work, Curt met the former Cynthia Klass. They were united in marriage on February 4, 1984. Throughout life, Curt was known for his love of the outdoors, and enjoyed time spent at Torch Lake and in Northern Canada, where he loved to fish. He was a talented guitar player and an excellent cook. Curt loved sharing all of his talents with his family. Known for his love of basketball, Curt especially enjoyed the family trips to Syracuse. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends for generations to come. In addition to Cindy, his wife of thirty-one years, Curt leaves to carry on his legacy his three children, Jillian (Jonathan) Etnyre, Eric Devendorf, (Fatriyah Jones), and Anna Devendorf. He was the proud and loving grandpa and papa of Madelyn, Miranda, and Violet, and is also survived by his sister, Teri Colpean; in-laws, Sherry Giewald, Gary Klass, and Bill Jordan along with many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was welcomed home to heaven by his father and mother-in-law, Howard and Eileen Klass and sister-in-law, Karen Jordan. Cindy, Jill, Eric and Anna,
I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with all of you always. Curt was such a nice, cool man and in my opinion lived in Technicolor! I can remember your wedding like it was yesterday and all my time babysitting the kids. Curt was always so outgoing and funny. What a loss for all who knew him. All my love,
Tammie Spegel-Day
