  1. Dear Chris & Family,
Our hearts grieve with you at Don’s passing & your deep personal loss. We will always treasure the special memory of him marrying Jeanne & Steve & also performing Steve’s funeral. He was a great man of faith who impacted Doug, Jeanne & I personally during our years at Calvary. May you & your kids receive comfort as only the Holy Spirit can give, knowing he is welcomed into Jesus loving arms. You will remain in our prayers. Love in Christ,
    Doug & Carol Palmer
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end.
They are new every moning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22,23

  2. Don was kind, gentle, always smiling, he will be greatly missed. Knowing he is with the lord my that bring comfort to you all.

  3. So sorry to hear of Don’s passing. He was always the true gentleman, and loving grandfather. He will be missed.

  4. Chris and family, we wish to express our deep sorrow in the passing on of Don, our friend and long time pastor. He certainly was a wonderful influence of grace in our younger years, teaching by example what it was to serve the Lord and demonstrate love to others. Knowing you both as I do, I can only say that a Christian legacy has been left behind that is deep and far reaching. I remember the song sang by our daughter at the Calvary Church reunion many years ago which says it all, “may those who come behind us find us faithful.” That describes Don’s testimony well. It is a thought that I consider daily for myself as well – leaving a legacy of Faith for those behind, and hearing as Don has, our Lord Jesus say,
‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
    Matthew 25:21 (NKJV)
We love you all and will continue to pray for Christ’s grace to comfort you in the times of sad reflection. Tom & Sibyl Clark

  5. I Kelly send my condolances to Mr don buschlens family. I had Mr. Don buschlen for a special ed teacher at western high school back in the 1990s. He was a very nice and respectful teacher.

  6. I can’t wrap my mind around this. Though it’s been years since our families hung out regularly, the emotional bond is still present. Your family was not only my dearest church family, but truly our chosen family through friendship and life experiences. Not only have I always and will continue to hold dear all our memories shared, I will continue to hear your mother and father always laughing together. They are one of the best examples of the kind of marriage God had in mind. I love you guys.

  7. We sure will miss our neighbor Don, with his ever present smile and kind words. Our condolences to Chris and the rest of his family.

    Sincerely,
    Bob & Rosanne Mantei

  8. I value the years spent at New Jerusalem with Don as pastor. He was truly a Godly man and I enjoyed his spiritual insight. I’ll see Don in heaven by and by. My prayers for comfort go out to Chris, Emily and Joel. The others in his immediate family I haven’t met but I want you to know your Dad had an impact on me. God bless you all!-David Rea

  9. Dear Chris & Family:
I’m so saddened to hear of Don’s early Homegoing! But REJOICING with you that he’s in our Jesus’ arms! And that we’ll see him again! I was on FB when found out and believe I was “guided” to listen to this beautiful video: “I Will Always Love You,” sung by a 4 yr old! As I listened I was the child singing to Don! Yes I will always love you, Don! Every Sunday you taught me pure Bible in my early Christian walk – and we know, the Word accomplishes what God sent it to do!
    Thank You, Jesus, for Don!
Isaiah 55:11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

  10. Chris and kids,
May the blessings, comfort, and grace of our Creator be with you.
    Much love. lorrie
