Donna R. Vanderlooven, our loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Bay Medical Care Facility, age 91. Donna was born in Bay City on January 28, 1922. She was united in marriage to her faithful and dedicated husband, Gustave Vanderlooven on February 15, 1947 in Midland. Their marriage would be blessed with over 66 years and countless memories. Donna's love for her family will always be remembered and cherished by all. She was an avid shuffleboard player, a supportive Detroit Tigers fan and enjoyed Saturday family card games, cook-outs and road trips up north. Her fun loving, feisty, comical, yet loving personality will live on in the hearts of those she touched for generations to come. Donna leaves behind her loving husband, Gustave Vanderlooven of Essexville; children, Jerri Ann Hood of Mobile, AL., Marsha and husband, Paul Koperna of Essexville, Lori and husband, Wayne Schoof of Omer and Steve Vanderlooven of Essexville. Donna was the beloved grandmother of eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by three children, one granddaughter, one sister and one brother. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, April 25, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Donna's Funeral Ceremony at 11:00 a.m. at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. Jane Grzegorczyk will officiate with interment to follow in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Donna may be directed to the wishes of the family.

I know everyone thinks that they have the best Grandma, but I can truly say that I had the BEST Grandma. My grandma helped raise me to be the person that i am today. She was such a wonderful, fun loving, and happy go lucky person. Her family was what made her the happiest. We are so lucky to have been blessed with her for 91 years. I will miss her more than I could ever explain. I love you so much Gram, I’ll see you later

To my great grandma Donna,
You where always my sweet little old grandma Donna who always cared about everyone even when u had a hard time caring for yourself. I miss comin over with my grandma jerri and having coffee and tea and watch jeopardy together. i remember every halloween ur house was the place to be. All the laughs and smiles we all shared at all the family get togethers and cook outs will never be forgotten. You will always be in my heart and I will always love you
