Dorothy C. Proulx-Townsend, 89, of Bay City, was born into eternal life on the afternoon of Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Hoyt Nursing & Rehab Centre in Saginaw, surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born in Black River, Michigan on June 19, 1924, the daughter of the late Mose and Mae (Saucier) Mondeau. She was united in marriage to William S. Proulx on June 15, 1946. He preceded her in death on December 15, 1976. Dorothy later married Charles Townsend on July 16, 1982. He also preceded her in death on October 29, 1996. Dorothy worked for many years at St. Laurent Brothers and enjoyed bingo, dancing and walking (especially walking the Mackinac Bridge). She was a former member of the Eagles, where she served as past president, the Loyal Order of the Moose and the V.F.W. Dorothy spent many years in Florida prior to returning back home to Michigan. She will always be remembered for her generous, kind and loving ways. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Debra Kerridge and fiancé, Chad Nichols and Sharlene and husband, Vic Miller. She was the loving MiMi of Rick and Mellisa Beyer, Mike and Lindsay O’Leary, Tammy Leinberger and Todd and Kim Miller. Dorothy is also survived by her sister, Viola and husband, James Thomas and brother, Leonard and wife, Margaret Mondeau. Dorothy’s family will be present to receive visitors on Saturday, March 1, 2014 from 11:00 AM until the time of her 1:00 PM Funeral Liturgy at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 607 E. South Union St., Bay City. Fr. Patrick M. Jankowiak will officiate and private interment will take place in Floral Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N.
