Edward A. Schiattone, our loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, January 6, 2014 at his home with his devoted family by his side at the age of 57. The son of John and Beverly Schiattone, Ed was born on March 1, 1956 in Bay City. He graduated from John Glenn High School in 1974 and proudly served in the United States Navy from 1975 to 1977. Ed retired from the IUPAT Local 1803 after twenty-five years of service to the painter's trade. He worked for Boice Byrd & Sons for almost all of that time. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of twenty-nine years, the former Ann Schalk; his daughter, Kristin M. Schiattone; son, Edward "E.J." Schiattone; parents, John and Beverly Schiattone; brothers, Mike (Mary) Schiattone, along with their daughter, Tracie (Matt) Steel and baby, Harper; John (Barbara) Schiattone, along with their son, Vincent; his sister, Kary (Bill) Ayala; sisters and brothers-in-law, Norman (Stephanie) Schalk, along with their son Christopher (Heather Trudeau); Michelle Brady (Rick Reittenbach), along with her children, Katie Lewis, Sean Brady and Danielle Brady; Mary (Charles) Pliska, Joe (Virginia) Schalk and Farrell Kruzell. Ed is also survived by his best friend, Alan Kalinowski, along with several extended family members. Ed was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Norman and Marie Schalk and sisters-in-law, Charmaine McPherson and Shirley Kruzell. Ed's family will be present to receive visitors on Friday, January 10, 2014 from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. On Friday at 5:00 PM, Fr. Dale Orlik will lead a Remembrance Ceremony, followed by military honors that Ed was so deserving of. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.   9. I worked with Ed back at Bay Metal Cabinets AKA Kerkue Manufacturing and went thru the entire apprentice program for the painters local he was a great person to work for and with. Sorry to hear of his passing….Terry Shawl
