WEISS-DARBY, Eleanor D. - of Saginaw, age 96, died Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Meadowview Memory Care in Saginaw. Funeral services will be held on 12PM Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church, 545 7th Street, Freeland, Michigan. Pastor Rob Schmidt officiating. Burial to follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at the church on Tuesday from 10AM until the time of service at 12PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church. Eleanor was born April 23, 1921 in Tittabawassee, Michigan to the late James and Ida (Henderson) Darby. She married Richard Weiss on August 5, 1978. He preceded her in death in 1993. Besides homemaking, Eleanor worked many years as a seamstress doing alterations. She also worked as a waitress for Johnny Ryan. Eleanor was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Freeland for 40 years. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, dice, dominos, gardening, and cooking incredible food. Eleanor had an ear for music. She was a self taught pianist and could also play the accordion. Surviving are: Daughter, Kathleen Voelker; Grandson, Todd Voelker, and many dear nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Delores Kipfmiller, Brothers: Edward Darby, and Gerald Darby; Sisters: Mary Neuenfeldt, Marguerite Arndt, Arlene Ederer, Evelyn Atchinson, Isabel Beeden, and Son in law, Robert Voelker.   1. Eleanor brought joy and laughter to my life in the short time I knew her. She will be dearly missed by all of us a Meadowview! I will miss hearing her stories about the farm and her chasing the cows out of the woods. I will never forget the horses either…hahaha! Rest in peace sweet angel!
