April 22, 1922 ~ April 22, 2014
Eleanor Majznerski-Bissonette, 92, of Bay City, passed away in her sleep on the morning of Tuesday, April 22, 2014. She was born in Bay City on April 2, 1922, the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Kajdan) Moszyk. Even though they were never married, Grandma Ellie and Merle Strawn lived with each other for 19 years. They were as supportive of one another as any married couple would be. Grandma lived a full and long life, but her health was failing the last couple of years. She was admitted to McLaren Bay Region on Monday, April 14, 2014 with renal failure and was eventually diagnosed with cancer. She was happy and comfortable in her final week and received much attention from Merle, the nursing staff and her family. She was brought home on Sunday April 20, 2014 with hospice and medical support. By that evening her condition deteriorated, but she was kept comfortable. She then passed away in her sleep at home early the following Tuesday morning. Her children had the chance to say their goodbyes on Sunday and last saw Grandma happy and at peace. We thank our Lord for His graciousness and providing her with comfort and His love. Surviving family members are her daughter Mary Lou Howell and her husband, David of Shelby Township; her son, Larry-Majznerski-Mize and his wife, Lisa of Grand Rapids. She was the unconditional grandma of Kevin Howell and his wife, Jenny, Greg Howell and his wife, Kelly, Carrie Nimmo and her husband, Garrett and Alex Mize, Taylor Mize and Ryan Mize. Also surviving are her great- grandchildren, Dylan Howell, Madison Howell, Greer Nimmo and Gavin Nimmo. Grandma is up in heaven with her family and friends and receiving a lot of attention which always made her happy. We will always miss her, but don’t be sad…the next time we see her we will be as happy as she is right now. A Private Committal Ceremony will be held at St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery at a later date. Final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com

Mary Lou and Larry,
So sorry to hear about your Mom. I would see her in Meijer’s and stop and talk with her. Your Mom and all of you were such great neighbors. Hope to be able to meet you all again. Take care and God be with you.

I personally took care of Eleanor during her last week, she was an amazing person and everyone we were in the room, she told me we better get ready to dance! Eleanor was a hoot and I enjoyed every minute I spent with her! I’m sad to see her go but I’m also very glad I got to meet this amazing woman. ~JW
