elwinbartlett

Elwin Lawrence Bartlett, 74, of Kawkawlin, our strong, kind, caring, humorous, and most loving husband, dad, grandpa, and friend passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023 at McLaren Bay Region, peacefully surrounded by his loving family.

Al was born on June 10, 1948 to the late Bernard and Louise (Talbot) Bartlett in Flint. He graduated from Ainsworth High School in Flint. After graduation, he courageously joined the United States Army and served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. One evening at the Alano Club in Saginaw, Al met the former Laura Terry. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on Sweetest Day – October 19, 1991.

Al worked for General Motors – Saginaw as a Machine Repair Technician. He was a dedicated and hard-working employee who shared over 30 years there. Al loved being outdoors; fishing, woodworking, and gardening, just to name a few. Logan Hills Campground always had a special place in Al’s heart, ever since he was a child. He was a true family man, and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Al’s gentle and loving spirit will live on in the hearts of his family for many years to come.

To carry on his legacy, Al leaves his beloved wife of 32 years, Laura; children, Jenell Bartlett (fiance, Tim Burgess), Ryan Bartlett, Lisa (Eric) Cupal, and Jamey (Raquelle) Felsing; son-in-law, Bob White; grandchildren, Winter (Mason) Lynch, Piper (Jake) Felsing, and Makayla White; great-grandchildren, Ellie Felsing and River Lynch; siblings, Bernadine Maxwell, Linda (Ron) Feinauer, and Yvonne Kube; in-laws, Sharon Bartlett, Delbert Terry, Sunday (Cheryl Eubanks) Whitney, and Ron Terry, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by sister, Nancy Rissie; brother, Frederick Bartlett, and in-laws, Mike Maxwell and Don Kube.

Al’s family will be present to receive visitors on Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 1:00 PM until Elwin’s 4:00 PM Funeral Ceremony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge and Center. Reverend Charles Campbell will preside. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
