Frances K. Melton

frances melton
On September 19, 2015 Jesus opened up His loving arms to embrace Frances K. Melton. Fran was born April 27, 1942 to the late Kay Musial and Frank (Nancy) Watz. She was very passionate about helping those in need, and adamant about sharing her love of the Lord with others. She had a very kind and giving heart, and will be dearly missed. She is survived by James P. Melton, her loving husband of 55 years; two brothers, Frank (Marie) Watz and Wally (Diane) Musial; eight children, Fran Melton II, Chris (Larry) Bowker, James P. Melton II, Marge Siegrist, Angie (Andy) Divo, Mike Melton, Jerry Melton, and Jeff Melton; eight grandchildren, Zack Divo, Kristin Bowker, Mathew Bowker, Brandi Melton, Shelby Melton, Kyle Melton, Andrew Divo, and Breanna Siegrist, along with one great-granddaughter, Ava Divo. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Tom (Diane) Melton, and her close friend, Sharon Minar. Fran was welcomed home to heaven by her sisters, Rose Mary Oosterveen and Michelle Miller. The entire family wishes to express gratitude to the Davita Dialysis Center, Bay Shores Nursing Center and McLaren Bay Region for caring for Fran in her last months with us. At Fran's request cremation has taken place and private family arrangements have been entrusted to Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. Memorial Contributions may be directed to The New Hope Baptist Church. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.

  1. We are so sorry to hear of Fran’s passing. We have had her and the whole family in our prayers during her illness. We are asking God to give his blessings and comfort to the family. Love, Dick & Jan Van Nostrand

  2. My condolences to the Melton Family. Fran and I were both patients at dialysis together. Every time I walked in Fran would say there’s that lil girl. The 1st time we met she was walking by my chair and grabbed my foot and she asked me if she could pray with me,I’ll never forget that. The Lord has another Angel watching over us. I’m sure going to miss her,so happy I was able to tell her how much I love her. She spoke of her children often,oh how she adored them all

  3. Mr. Melton, Jeff, Jerry, and the rest of the family, I am saddened to know that momma Melton is no longer with us. You all are in my prayers and thoughts. It is good know though that she is with the Lord now. God Bless you guys. Miss you also.

    Sean Busha

  4. Jim and family, am so sorry for your loss. Fran was an inspiration to me and all she crossed paths with. I know she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. You will be in my prayers and thoughts.
    Henry Staley

  5. Jim It has been a long time since we last saw each other but wanted to offer my condolences in the passing of your wife. Prayers go out to you and your family.
