Frederick Arthur Danico

Frederick Arthur Danico, 79, of Bay City, our humorous, loving, enthusiastic, and strong father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on June 23, 2019 at home, with his family by his side. Fred was born on August 21, 1939 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of the late Frederick Luther and Janet M. (Meier) Danico. After graduating from high school, Fred went on to answer the call of his country; serving in the U.S. Navy from 1958 until 1962. On July 2, 1961, Fred married the love of his life, the former Ruth Ann Whitson. Sadly, Ruth Ann predeceased Fred on June 29, 2018. Fred worked in sales and management with various water and irrigation companies. He belonged to the American Legion, AMVETs, and the Elks Club and was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church in Bay City. He enjoyed golfing, sailing, carpentry, and above all, spending time with his family. Fred leaves to cherish his memory, two children: Katherine (Bill) Zollars and Bethany (Gerry) Andino. He was the loving grandfather of 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; his brothers, Alnathan (Lois) Danico and Richard Boyer, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Fred was welcomed home to heaven by his son, John Danico; siblings, Peggy Boyer, Nanette Largent, and Dean Danico; brothers-in-law, Kenneth and Joseph Whitson. Private arrangements have been entrusted to Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp.
