Gary Thomas Tacey, 74, of Hampton Twp., our wonderful, amazing and remarkable husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend was born into eternal life on the morning of Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at McLaren Bay Region, surrounded by his loving family. Gary was born in Hampton Twp. on April 24, 1941, the son of the late Ray and Helen (Miklovicz) Tacey. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and went on to marry the love of his life, the former Shirley Jackson. Gary was known for his true love and devotion to his family, along with his love for deer hunting, fishing, camping, horseback riding, gardening and furniture and upholstery refinishing. Gary retired from Bay Chemical Company and was also employed with the Essexville Cement Plant. His hard work ethic, and love for his family will live on for generations to come. Gary leaves behind his loving wife of fifty-three years, Shirley Tacey. He was the unconditional loving father of Gary Tacey II and his special friend, Delores Newton, Steve and wife, Kelly Tacey, Lisa and husband, Chester Johnson and Cyndi and husband, Timothy Hardin. He is also survived by his sister, Rachel McKay Green and her husband; brothers, Bill and wife, Janice Tacey, Gerald "Chip" and wife, Lillian Tacey, along with twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Gary's family will be present to receive visitors on Friday, June 5, 2015 from 2:00 PM until the time of his 7:00 PM Celebration of Life at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. Cremation will follow. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
