George Vasquez Martinez, 73, of Bay City, our loving and devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend was born into eternal life on the morning of Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at his home. George was born in San Antonio, TX on February 22, 1941, the son of the late Jesus and Maria (Vasquez) Martinez, Sr. After over forty years of dedicated service, George retired from General Motors as an inspector. He will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and love of the casino, animals and nature. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Patricia and husband, Michael Roznowski, Joseph and wife, Annette Martinez, Denise and husband, Richard Evans, Eric and wife, Tammy Greenwood and Kelley Wilson. George was the loving grandfather and great-grandfather of many. George is also survived by his special caregiver and granddaughter, Susan Martinez; siblings, Joe Martinez, Manuel and wife, Inga Martinez, Robert and wife, Debbie Martinez, Maria and husband, Andy Carmona, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, George was welcomed home to heaven by his brother, Henry Martinez, Frank Martinez and Tom Martinez. Private arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp.   4. I remember when Kendra George’s granddaughter would me over to visit him and see his animals and vehicles he had he was a happy hilarious man you are missed dearly.

I am so sorry for your loss.George was my neighbor for over 20 years.I will always remember his smile and kindness.I will miss the old truck driving by and the gentle wave he always gave me… visiting with him when I would run into him at the grocery store and his always beautiful Christmas decorations.My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

George was a great father, a good honest man who has helped whoever needed it.I was basically a foster child of George’s but he treated me like his own son and at the time it was what kept me out of prison or possibly death. I will miss you dearly and hope I become half the man and father you were. I will never stop thinking and loving you
