Gerald "Jerry" Niedzielski

gerald niedzielski
Jerry Niedzielski, 93, of Bay City, our loving, supportive, devoted, and most giving husband, dad, and wonderful Pa was born into eternal life on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at his home. Jerry was born in Bay City on June 10, 1925, the son of the late Alphonse and Martha (Rubis) Niedzielski. Growing up, Jerry enjoyed spending time with his buddies, raising pigeons, and delivering bread with his dad, who worked at Berdan Bread Company. After 11th grade, Jerry answered the call of our country and served 3 ½ years in the U.S. Army/Air Force. He flew 29 missions as a ball turret gunner over Germany and then fought fires in California until he was honorably discharged. On July 5, 1947, Jerry was united in marriage to the love of his life, the former Ruth Ann Seaman. He retired from Sears after 22 years as a carpet salesman and enjoyed bowling, golfing, and was an avid sportsman. He was the best husband of 71 years and an outstanding father to his three children. Jerry always took pride in the home he built with his “Ruthie Gal.” In addition to Ruth, Jerry leaves to carry on his legacy, his three children: Mike (Jackie) Niedzielski, Russ (Gizella) Niedzielski, and Louise Anderson. He was the most supportive and loving “Pa” of Jerry (Bambi) Niedzielski, Deanna (Jason) Jean, Wendy (Barrett) Neely, Heather (Paul) Rancort, Eric Peterson (Christina), Holly (Mark) Huss, and Timothy Peterson (Nicole). Jerry’s memory will live on in the hearts of his great-grandchildren, Brittnee, Jeramiah, Amani, Zachary (Sara), DJ (Britt), Pedro (Alisha), Austin, Logan, Connor, Cameron, Silas, Forrest, Abbie, Austin, Dylan, and Piper; great-great grandsons, Leon and Cruz; sister-in-law, Barb Niedzielski, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jerry was welcomed home to heaven by his brothers, Alphonse Niedzielski, Jr. and Arthur Niedzielski; sister, Eleanor (Norman) Ebel; his father and mother-in-law, Russell & Ruth Seaman, and his sister-in-law, Dolores (Howard) Gum. The entire family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Jerry’s grandson, Eric, for all the outdoor chores he did for his Pa; to his granddaughter, Deanna, for always coming to his rescue to fix the T.V., and to The Care Team Hospice, especially Misty and Don for their compassionate care. Jerry’s family will be present to receive visitors on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Vigil for Jerry at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N.
