September 5, 1927 ~ April 13, 2013
Gladyslove Maryann Whitney, age 85, went home to be with Jesus on April 13, 2013 at MediLodge of Montrose. Gladys was born in Flint on September 5, 1927, the daughter of the late Maynard and Marguerite (Bailor) Jones. She was a 1946 graduate of Flint Central High School, was of the Baptist faith and deeply loved life and her family.
On December 11, 1946, she was united in marriage to her loving and devoted husband, Jasper Whitney, who survives. Their marriage was blessed with over 66 years and four children. In addition to Jasper, Gladyslove leaves behind her four children, Gerald Whitney, Margie and husband, Gene Kirk, John and wife, Lisa Whitney and Scott and wife, Terrie Whitney. She was the kind and loving grandma of Roger and wife, Sharlynne Koon, Randy and wife, Beth Koon, Amy Whitney, Juston and wife, Holly Whitney, Nick and wife, Rochelle Whitney and Ashley Whitney. Also surviving are nine great grandchildren and her sister, Shirley and husband, James Kinney.
A Memorial Ceremony will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at The Family Worship Center, 9453 Vienna Rd., with a dinner to follow.
