Father Tom .. here’s a poem for you that I wrote .. hope it brings you great comfort:
.. SUNSET ..
pho-etry by ellen
Dying is like the setting sun ..
it’s gone from us, but new to some.
We can no more stop the sun from leaving ..
Than plan in our life we’ll have no grieving.
The sun falls from our sight ..
a loved one loses the good fight.
To both sun and loved one, it’s a happy thing ..
the sun greets new lands, the other hears angels sing.
As the dark side of earth welcomes the sun ..
remember that in heaven the same thing is done.
Glad faces of old, both family and friends .
and God there to greet us, when our day ends.
“JOY comes, grief goes, we know not how.”
May love surround you and yours in this time of sorrow.
