Armstrong, James L. Falconview Estates Freeland, Michigan Passed away Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015. Age 97 years. James Lee Armstrong was born June 14, 1918 in Gladwin, Michigan to James Glenn and Eleanor (Hewitt) Armstrong. He married Inez Scott on December 16, 1944. She preceded him in death on January 29, 2010. Mr. Armstrong was a member of Bridgeport Community Church. He was co-owner of Bannan's TV Sales and Service for many years. He enjoyed playing euchre and bingo. He was a talented wood worker, and enjoyed carving, scroll sawing, gardening, camping, fishing, and was an avid bowler. Surviving are 3 sons and 2 daughters; Robert (Diane) Armstrong, Janet Reimer, Shirley (Bill) Schwalm, James (Regina) Armstrong, and David Armstrong, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Aleta Harvey and Joyce Hice, 2 sisters-in-law Jean (Floyd) Meddaugh and Helen Scott, and many other loving family members and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his brother Harold, and his sister Verda Bixler. Rev. Ron Sinclair will officiate the funeral service 11AM Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015 at Bridgeport Community Church, 3821 State St., Bridgeport. Interment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are welcome to visit at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Rd., on Wednesday Sept. 23rd from 1pm to 4pm, and 6pm to 8pm, and at the church on Thursday one hour before the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial envelopes are available for your offering to Bridgeport Community Church.
