James Michael Demko, 62, of Bay City, passed away on the evening of Friday, January 15, 2016 at his home. Jim was born in Saginaw on September 24, 1953, the son of William and Martha (Pasterz) Demko. He graduated from Carrollton High School and spent his career with General Motors – Malleable Iron in Saginaw. After thirty years, Jim retired and enjoyed his time fishing and hunting. Known for his friendly ways, Jim will be deeply missed by all of his friends and family. Jim is survived by his parents, William and Martha Demko; daughter, Alison Demko; grandson, Brode Ryan; soul mate, Lori Cardinal; two brothers, David and Donald Demko, along with many friends. Jim was welcomed home to heaven by his son, Jamie Demko and friends, Tom, Rob, Dean, Alan, and Tim. Jim’s family will be present to receive visitors on Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 12:30 PM until the time of his 1:30 PM Celebration of Life at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. The family will welcome guests for a reception in The Wesley Room at Skorupski’s immediately following. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family. Thoughts and prayers go out to the Demko family and Lori. Jim & Lori were great neighbors always there for me. Jim was a wonderful person with a kind heart. Always there if I needed help with anything or even just to visit. He will truly be missed. Rest in peace my friend. Our deepest sympathy to you all….
Jim we had 30 plus years together which gave us a lot of special memories that I will always hold dear to my heart. I am very thankful and feel blessed you and I could have a fresh start. I will treasure our time together. I am just so sad it had to be so short. This is selfish on my part and I am sorry..I am happy for you to be with Jamie, River and your friends . Your suffering is over my love…and yes we are Soul Mates….you are a part of me forever…until we meet again. Lo
Lori, I was sorry to read about Jim. I remember your beautiful wedding like it was yesterday. Even though we haven’t been in touch for quite awhile I’ve thought of both of you quite often and I hope you and Jim had many happy years together. My thoughts are with you and your family. Brother Don, so sorry to learn of your brother’s death. I too know the grief of losing a brother. Both my brothers and a sister left this world unexpectedly at an early age. My prayers are for you and your family during this difficult time.

Midland High School English Department purchased the Beautiful in Blue for the family of James Michael Demko.
We are so saddened with the passing of Jim, you have our deepest condolences.
Jim, while we were kids you were quite a pain in our side, with all the your pranks. However, you grew up to be a wonderful man and not only a good friend of Rob’s, but a member of our family. May you rest in peace in the loving arms of the Lord!

Brother Dave, I’m so sorry about the loss of your brother. I lost my oldest brother a couple months ago and know what you are going through. May you remember all the good times you had with Jim and know that he is with his Lord. My condolences to the rest of the family. I worked with Dave at the Grey Iron. What a great guy. My sympathies to the whold family.
