Busch, James N. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Sunday, August 28, 2011. Age 68 years. James Norman Busch was born March 5, 1943 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Jeanie Shaft on December 12, 1970. She survives him. Mr. Busch was a high school teacher at Saginaw High School, and several other junior high schools for nineteen years, retiring in 1990 due to ill health. He graduated from Michigan State University, and later received his masters degree from Western Michigan University. Jim was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Saginaw. Surviving besides his wife, he leaves his son Mike (Hillary) Busch. Jim was very proud of his son’s graduation from MSU and starting his career in nursing in the neuro-intensive care unit at St. Mary’s Hospital. Jim enjoyed several hobbies, and was an avid sailor, and had crewed in several races. He enjoyed flying model airplanes, and had earned his pilot license and enjoyed flying. He was interested in solar energy and had constructed two solar units on his house. Jim loved his family, and enjoyed watching his son play ice hockey, sharing time on the PC, and watching MSU football. Funeral service will take place 11AM Friday, Sept. 2, 2011 at St. John Lutheran Church, Second and Federal Sts. Rev. Paulette Cummings will officiate with interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends and family are welcome to gather at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Road on Thursday, Sept. 1, from 2PM to 4PM and 6PM to 8PM, and at the church on Friday one hour before the funeral.
