Janet Rae Wietfeldt

Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 at Covenant Medical Center. Age 69 years. The daughter of the late Raymond and Nellie (Holly) Newlove, Janet was born May 9, 1941 and was a lifelong resident of James Township. She married Harold Wietfeldt on June 27, 1959 and he survives her. She owned and operated Jan’s Beauty Shoppe in Shields for over 40 years and retired in 2001. She served on the Michigan Cosmetology Association Board numerous terms and was also a member of the Polish Falcons. Jan also loved her summer home in AuGres and playing golf.Surviving besides her husband are two sons, one daughter and their spouses; Brian Wietfeldt and Melissa McCreedy of Pigeon, Craig and Michele (Spitz) Wietfeldt of Hemlock, and Steve and Pam (Wietfeldt) Favorite of New York; five grandchildren, Chelsea and Collin Wietfeldt, Kristen Premo, Nicole Bourdow and Brittni Favorite; and three great grandchildren, Alyssa, Jack, and Mikaila.Funeral service will take place 10 AM Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home on South Midland Rd. (M47). Rev. Edward Pankow will officiate with interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends are welcome to call on the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 12-4 and 6-8 PM, and on Friday one hour before the service. Memorial offerings are suggested to Susan G.
