Janice A. Sako

Passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Covenant Health Care, surrounded by her family. Age 90 Years. Janice Allison Welch was born July 3, 1925 to Howard and Helen Mavis (Jones) Welch. They predeceased her. Janice married Ernest Sako on October 22, 1955. He predeceased her on December 20, 1985. Mrs. Sako was of the Lutheran faith. Surviving are four daughters; Alanna (Steven) Mason, Gina (Carl) Grimm, Cindy (late Jack) Kennedy, and Laurie (Ron) Mayes, eleven grandchildren; Lisa (Colombo) Maura, Brian (Erica) Mason, Tony Hancotte, Matthew (DeAnna) Moore, Joshua McBride, Aaron McBride, Andrew McMillan, Michael (Sarah) Mayes, Chelsea (Jeremy) Matter, Ashley (Scott) Crowley, and Natalie Sako, eight great grandchildren, and other loving family members. Janice was predeceased by her brother Duane Welch, son Mark Sako, and her granddaughters Shannon Mayes and Heather Mayes. Pastor Pete Carlson will officiate the memorial service at 3PM Monday July 13, 2015 at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Rd., Saginaw, MI 48638. Family and friends are welcome to visit at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4PM, and on Monday from 2PM until the time of service at 3PM.
