Jasper Dale and Gladys were quite the team. They traveled to Arizona and welcomed as Snowbirds. My Dad and Mom were snowbirds here in Arizona too. The men would hike the trails and the women gathered together for arts and crafts, gossip and good times. The men made their own desert golf course to idle away the hours and the women would join them. I remember coming from California to visit and found the four of them in a desert round of golf near the winter park they were staying at. It was Thanksgiving and they were having so much fun. It is a wonderful memory to savor of Ervin and Betty Whitney, and Jasper Dale and Gladys Whitney, family times in the desert of Arizona.

My Dad was the best Dad a girl could ever have! Up until about 3 years ago when his mind started to scramble from strokes, he was always there when I needed him as both my parents were for all of their kids! He always made sure I had everything I needed! I was his “favorite” daughter as he always told everyone! That is because I was his only daughter! One best memory I have of him is when he and I painted my first car a Corvair because when we were done painting the blue paint was so thick we could not open the doors! He taught me how to drive a car, then took my racing car away from me cause I was driving it “like he did” .Another was the many times him and I would practice shooting his guns! He thought it was so funny whenever I fired one and it would knock me on the ground! But…in the end I could hit the bulls-eye more than he could. He taught me well how to shoot! The greatest memory is when he walked up the aisle in the Church along with my Mom and got “born again”!, and they together got Baptized . Their love of being a Christian is the reason I believe, and they told me is why they had longevity! They always said “when I die before you do, I will go to Heaven and wait for you”, for all their family!
Our sincere prayers and sympathy. Jasper and Gladys were treasured members and
friends in our church family. Godbless the family.
