Jean Mattice

Jean Elizabeth Mattice, 89, of Essexville, our caring, giving and loving mother and grandmother passed away peacefully during the early morning hours of Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Bay Medical Care Facility. Jean was born in Bad Axe on December 21, 1924, the daughter of the late Charles Elmer and Elizabeth Ann (DeTruax) Wallace. She was united in marriage to Floyd Mattice, who preceded her in death on July 5, 1974. Jean was extremely devoted and dedicated to her family. She was an excellent model of a Christian woman and was a member of the Essexville Baptist Community Church. Jean was known for her wonderful seamstress skills and would assist the community with their garment needs out of her Essexville home. She will forever be missed, but will live on in the hearts of her family for generations to come. Jean leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Susan Jean and husband, Robert Davidson of Essexville. She was the unconditional loving grandma of Alexis Galina Susan Davidson. Jean is also survived by her grand-cats. In addition to her parents and her husband, Jean was welcomed home to heaven by several siblings. Cremation will take place and no ceremony will be held. Final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
