Jeanette Stagray

December 16, 2018
Jeanette Stagray, 86, of Essexville, our loving, caring, and helpful grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend was born into eternal life on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Bay Medical Care Facility. Jeanette was born in Essexville on June 28, 1932, the daughter of the late Leo J. and Antoinette (LaLonde) Bouchard. On May 14, 1949, Jeanette was united in marriage to Norman “Stub” Stagray, who preceded her in death in 1994. Jeanette worked at Bay Medical Care Facility for 30 years and enjoyed crafting and playing cards, especially UNO and Euchre. A devout Catholic, Jeanette woke up every morning at 5:00 AM and prayed until 7:00 AM, reciting rosaries, novenas, and praying for the well being of those she loved. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish, where she was active in the Altar Society, League of Catholic Women & Men, assisted with funeral luncheons, and helped with cookies after Sunday Mass. Her faithful and devoted ways will always live on. Jeanette leaves to cherish her memory, her grandchildren, Matthew (Rebecca) Stagray and Tanya (Brady) Ricks; daughter-in-law, Mary Stagray; great-grandchildren, Kallen Stagray and Nolan Ricks; siblings, Rose (Tom) Marchand, Marylee (Charles) Militello, Leo G. (Marion) Bouchard, Lea (Ken) Tollefsrud; sisters-in-law, Nancy Bouchard and Norma Collier, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, Stub, Jeanette was welcomed home to heaven by her sons, Jerry in 1956 and Edward in 2014 and siblings, Alice (Carl) DuFresne, Vivian (John) Ryers, Adele (Virgil) Stagray, Joan (William) Stagray, and Kenneth Bouchard. Jeanette’s family will be present to receive visitors on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Evening Service officiated by Chaplain Doug Bassett at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. On Thursday, December 20, 2018, Jeanette will be taken to St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church), 614 Pine St., Essexville, where visiting will continue from 10:00 AM until Jeanette’s 11:00 AM Funeral Liturgy. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate with the Rite of Committal to follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, followed by a reception in The Wesley Room at Skorupski’s. The entire family wishes to thank Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care. Memorial contributions may be directed to Heartland Hospice or Bay Medical Care Facility’s Activities Department. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
