John A. Fraser

Passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014 at St. Mary's of Michigan Hospital at the age of 79 years. John was born June 30, 1935 to the late John A. and Marie (Martin) Fraser. He married Shirley Sommers July 16, 1955. She survives him. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hemlock. John was employed as a retail meat department manager for over 30 years before his retirement. Many friends and family members will remember John as a spirited fisherman, deer hunter and gardener. He spent many fall seasons with his family fishing the beautiful lakes and streams around Lake Superior. John was a proud member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, as well as the Saginaw Valley Sportsmen Club. John is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley; two sons: Jeffrey (Brenda) Fraser and Mark Fraser; one daughter, Terri (Bruce) Glazier; and many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael and all six of his brothers and sisters. Visitation will take place at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Road (S.
