Joyce Marie (Bruneel) Foster

joyce (bruneel) foster
Joyce Marie Foster, 87, of Frankenmuth passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at the Toni & Trish House with her family by her side. Joyce was born on May 1, 1928, in Detroit to the late Maurice and Madeline (VanHove) Bruneel. She worked in numerous small factories, one of which laid claim to a piece of her finger, and as a bus driver for the city of Saginaw while she was raising her children. She lived in Sun City, AZ and drove a bus for the City of Phoenix until her retirement, after which she lived in Lebanon, TN for a short time before returning to Michigan to be closer to her family. Joyce’s love of travel took her across the United States multiple times. She was an avid reader, a fan of casinos and crossword puzzles, and a cardigan aficionado. Her family will miss her feisty spirit, her warm hugs, her cookie pudding, and her smile. Some of them will even miss her liver and onions. Joyce will be missed terribly, but her family takes solace in the knowledge that on her watch Heaven's ketchup bottles will always be properly filled, the volume on the TV will be adequately loud, and the strong coffee will always be the perfect drinking temperature. She is survived by sons, David Hardy and companion, Judy Mertz of White Cloud, Richard Hardy and companion, Patricia Sweet of Saginaw, Jim Pryor and wife, Pam of Caro, and Brian Pryor and wife, Mary of Owendale; sisters, Delores Bernard and husband, Russ of Essexville, Rosemary Prime of Freeland, Diane Maxey and husband, Fred of Holly, and Linda Mears and husband, Doug of Lebanon, TN; sister-in-law, Carol Bruneel of Reese; grandchildren, Alan Hardy and companion, Christine of Saginaw, Tracy Hardy Brooks and companion, Mark of Saginaw, Nichole Esmon and husband, Alex of Asheville, NC, Justin Hardy and wife, Carrie of Winston-Salem, NC, Aaron Pryor and companion, Megan of Higgins Lake, Matthew Pryor and companion, Casey of Owendale, Kevin Maynard and wife, Mia of San Clemente CA, Taylor Pryor of Caro, and Tanner Pryor of Caro; seven great-grandchildren; her lifelong friend, Mary Potts of Frankenmuth, along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Dale Hardy; her daughter, Donna Pryor Maynard; sister, Cecilia Claeys and her husband, Albert; brother, Mel Bruneel; brother-in-law, Bill Prime; daughter-in-law, Judy Hardy, and nephew, Jimmy Claeys. Joyce’s family will be present to receive visitors on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 10:00 AM until the time of her 12:00 Noon Celebration of Life at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. Fr. Robert Kelm will officiate with a reception to follow in The Wesley Room at Skorupski’s. Interment will be held at 2:00 PM at Our Lady Consolata – Holy Family Cemetery in Unionville. The entire family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Toni & Trish House for their compassionate care. Memorial contributions in memory of Joyce may be directed to the Toni & Trish House.
