Kathleen Mary (Skeltis) Kabat, 60, of Ovingham-on-Tyne, England, formerly of Saginaw, Michigan, our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on October 16, 2016 after a brief illness. Kathleen was born on May 2, 1956 to the late Margie C. (Hynes) Skeltis and Frank A. Skeltis. Kathleen graduated from St. Mary’s Cathedral High School and in 2011 moved to England. She was a very talented artist and had a special gift for capturing the beauty of animals and nature. Her sense of humor, warmth, and tender heart will be sorely missed by the many who love her. Kathleen leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Peter Stenhouse; beloved daughter, Lisa Kabat of Saginaw; siblings, Frank M. (Jeanine) Skeltis, Dianne M. Ward, Steven W. (Frances) Skeltis, Sally Ann (Brett) David, and Carol E. Krancich. Kathleen was laid to rest in her adopted home, Ovingham-on-Tyne, England. The Holys boys , St Mary’s Alumni , we were blessed to know Kathy.
Kathy and I shared many wonderful times while at St. Mary’s. Our lives took us in different directions but when we saw each other, often with many years between, we always were able to “pick up where we left off”. It was such a delight, after knowing her first as a friend, to discover that we had the same Grampa Bill! She was so talented, warm, funny and lovely. It saddens me deeply to know that she is gone.
