Laurence Earl "Pa" Jacobs, Jr., 84, of Hampton Twp., was born into eternal life on the evening of Friday, June 26, 2015 at McLaren Bay Region. Pa was born in Bay City on July 19, 1930, the son of the late Laurence Sr. and Agnes (Krause) Jacobs. At a wrestling match at the armory, Pa met the former Vivian "Sue" VanHaaren. They dated, fell in love and were united in marriage on September 17, 1955 in St. Joseph Church. He proudly served with the U.S. Marines and retired in 1989 as an electrician after nearly forty years of faithful service at Bay City Chevrolet. Pa was an avid model car collector, favoring the red and blue cars. In his younger years, he enjoyed golfing and will be remembered by many for his easygoing ways. Pa was the unconditional loving father of MaryAnne and husband, Marc Sutton, Judy and husband, Bob Thomas, Larry and wife, Kelly Jacobs, Jay and wife, Ashley Jacobs, Ray and wife, Melanie Jacobs, Susan and husband, Todd Fisher, Gary and wife, Misty Jacobs and Liz and husband, Tim Petersen. His memory will be carried on for future generations and he will forever be in the hearts of his twenty-one grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Pa is also survived by his sister, Donna Boggs and brother, Bill and wife, Mary Jacobs; special friend, Florence "Flip" West, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, Pa was welcomed home to heaven by his wife, Vivian "Sue;" father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and May VanHaaren as well as his brother-in-laws George VanHaaren and Reed Boggs. By always being kind, compassionate, selfless, respectful, gracious and most of all grateful for all you have is the true way to honor Pa's memory and to ensure his legacy lives on. Pa's family will be present to receive visitors on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Vigil for the Deceased at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N.
