Lloyd G. Allen

Lloyd was born May 10, 1919 in Saginaw, MI, son of George and Jennie T. (Litchfield) Allen. He retired from Helfrecht Machine Co. in 1981 after 44 years of service. During his employment, he was granted a patent for the design and manufacturing of an air cleaner for autos. He was active in Thomas Township government, serving as a Trustee and Planning Commission Chairman. During that time, through his efforts, the Hemlock Semiconductor Corp. got started in Thomas Township. He was also a past President of the Shields Lions Club and served on several Swan Valley School District committees. He was a member of the Swan Valley Church of the Nazarene (formally Shields) for many years, serving on the Board of Trustees and as Secretary and Treasurer. He then held those same positions at New Life Church of the Nazarene. He currently was a member of the Saginaw First Church of the Nazarene. Lloyd is survived by four daughters: Jenneth (Dick) Brucker, Boulder, CO; Kathryn Heriford, Hartwell, GA; Susan Brooks, Broomfield, CO; and Karen Holliday, Scottsdale, AZ. He also has a sister, Mary Anne Carney, Rockford, MI., seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind very dear friends, David (Patti) Holzschuh, Ypsilanti, MI and Ellen and Jerry Draper, Saginaw, MI. Friends and relatives may call at Reitz-Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 Midland Rd. on Friday, January 29th between 6 - 8 pm. Additional viewing will be at the Saginaw First Church of the Nazarene, 3000 Davenport, on Saturday, January 30th from 10 - 11 am, prior to the memorial service by co-officiants, Rev.
