Lois Irene Lentner

Lois Irene Lentner, 87, of Saginaw Twp., our very caring, loving, strong-willed, and devoted mom, Granny, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019. Lois was born in Saginaw on September 2, 1931, the daughter of the late James and Mildred (Thornton) Crandall. Through her sister, she was introduced to Edward Lentner. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on February 7, 1948. Sadly, Ed preceded Lois in January of 1986. Lois worked at McBrite Manor as a baker, and shared her talents with many of her family and friends. Her graduation cakes for her grandchildren were always the best of the best. Family always came first with Lois, followed by her love of the Detroit Tigers. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and in her younger years, she enjoyed traveling (especially cruising), along with playing softball and bowling. Lois leaves to carry on her legacy, her four daughters, Dawn Luptowski, Penny Palmer, Sandi Lentner, and Debbie Altscheffel; grandchildren, Robert Palmer, Rebecca Palmer, and Courtney Altscheffel; great-grandchildren, Delphine Palmer, J.D., Castiel, and Sylvanas McBride; her sisters, Gloria Malmo and Elaine Manning, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Lois was welcomed home to heaven by her husband, Edward Lentner; son-in-law, Bernie Luptowski; sister, Betty (Clarence) Kaczmarek, and brothers-in-law, Curtis Malmo and Donald Manning. Lois' family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 9:30 AM until Lois' 11:00 AM Funeral Ceremony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services (formerly Reitz-Herzberg), 1550 Midland Rd., between State & Gratiot. A reception will follow in The Wesley Room at Skorupski's, with interment to be held privately in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, or a charity of the donor's choice. I am sorry to hear of the loss of your mom and “granny”. I remember visiting with her when she worked at McBrite and also her little “yappy” dog. My prayers are going out for you and your families during this time of sadness, grief, and healing. May God bless you all.

My heart goes out to the family. Lois was a fiesty, determined lady that brought joy to my heart the short time I knew her. We enjoyed harassing each other but I think we respected each other immensely. I will miss her greatly.

Dear Sandy, I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. I will always remember her as you feisty supporter while you were receiving therapy. She also blessed us with her wonderful plates of baked goods. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
