Lorraine Nowicki

Lorraine Irene Nowicki, 82, of Bay City, our caring, compassionate and devoted wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Sunday, August 31, 2014 at McLaren Bay Region. Lorraine was born in Bay City on April 17, 1932, the daughter of the late Sylvester and Irene (Buda) Gruszynski. She was united in marriage to Thomas Nowicki on August 22, 1953 in St. Hyacinth Church. Lorraine was an excellent role model and inspiration to her children and grandchildren and enjoyed all kinds of hobbies and crafts, including: sewing, quilting, scrapbooking, trying to beat her mahjongg scores and working in her yard with her flowers. Her kind and considerate ways will live on in the hearts of her family and friends for generations to come. Lorraine leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of sixty-one years, Thomas and children, Allan, Daniel, Thomas and wife, Kathy, Donald and wife, Pam and Susan. Lorraine was the proud and loving grandma of Jennifer (Michael) Oginsky, Allison Nowicki, Kyle (Lakeisha) Nowicki, Dustin (Karly) Vance, Thomas, Zachary, Katie and Tyler Nowicki. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Jacob and Bella; brother, Paul Gruszynski and her beloved dog, Nikki. In addition to her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her brothers, Jerry Gruszynski and Archie Gruszynski. Private interment will be held in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Boys and Girls Club of Bay City. The entire family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of the critical care unit at McLaren Bay Region, especially Gary, Joyce, Leslie, Jeri and Dr. Mohan, Dr. Soueidan, Dr. Ahmed and Dr. Dandamudi for the compassionate and loving care provided. Final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. So sorry to hear of your moms passing I’m sure my mom and yours are thinking how to redo some place in heaven as your mom was so talented and mine like to add her part too I will always remember the picnics at your home when we were so little and your family always made us feel welcome Remember God’ promise to have a place ready when we leave this earth ,you didn’t lose your mom Heaven gained someone special and you will always know where she is now
