Luella M. Elwell, 94, of Bay City, our courageous and kind hearted mom, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend was born into eternal life on the afternoon of Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Heartland - Hampton. Sweet Lou was born in Bay City on May 22, 1921, the daughter of the late Arthur and Eva (Wall) Norton. While dancing, Lou met Robert J. Elwell. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on August 31, 1946 at St. Mary's Church. Their fifty-six years blessed them with nine children and countless memories. Sadly, Bob preceded Lou in death on December 31, 2002. Throughout life, Lou was known for her love of playing poker with family members, visiting the casino, cross stitching, but most of all, her unwavering love for her family. She will forever be remembered for her famous hugs, and her endless supply of "I love you's." Lou leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Charlotte (Wilson) Fournier, Jacquelyn (Paul) Marlow, Mary (Randy) Podleski, Margaret Elwell, Robert (Rose) Elwell, Jr., Michele DuFord; grandchildren, Brenda (Fred) Micho, Jeanette (Tom) Badour, Michael (Michelle) Elwell, Wilson (Stephanie) Fournier, Jenay (Brian) Lepley, Jennifer Marlow, Paul Marlow, Jr., Nathaniel (Amy) Rankey, Brea Podleski, Christine (Ben) Sovereign, Ashley (Shane) Donnelly, Robert Elwell III, James DuFord, Jr., Desiree (Andrew) Salmiery, Rochelle (Matt) Applegate, Matthew DuFord, along with eighteen great-grandchildren. Lou is also survived by her sister, Sally Norgan, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, Lou was welcomed home to heaven by her children, Timothy Elwell, William Elwell, Paul Elwell; granddaughter, Autumn Rose Elwell, along with three brothers and one sister. Lou's family will be present to receive visitors on Monday, March 14, 2016 from 10:00 AM until the time of Lou's 12:00 Noon Celebration of Life at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N.
