Lyle Harry Struthers, 63, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Bay City passed away on October 15, 2015. Lyle was born in Muskegon on February 10, 1952, the son of the late Robert and Florence (Broughton) Struthers. He attended Bay City Central High School and was a Co-Op for Central Dispatch. He remained a Bay County Dispatcher for his entire career and retired to Mesa, Arizona. Lyle was a member of the Salvation Army, loved NASCAR, computers, and being able to help people when they needed help most (especially helping to save lives delivering babies through assisting over the phone as a dispatcher). He leaves to cherish his memory his siblings, Robert (Deb) Struthers, Barbara Sherman, Betty Walter, Martin (Rene) Struthers, and Thomas (Bonnie) Struthers. Although he never had children, he was deeply loved by his many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was welcomed home to heaven by his step-mother, Lillian Struthers; step-father, Francis Badour, and great-nephew, Ryan Burpee. Lyle donated his body to science and a memorial will be announced at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.

My deepest sympathies to Lyle’s family and friends. Lyle was truly a one of a kind person, with the emphasis on kind. His gentle nature and softspoken words are what I remember most about him, along with his zany knack for harmless pranks and practical jokes. His sense of humor was second to none and he could always bring lightheartedness and fun to an otherwise dreary day. He will most be missed for his love of teasing his sister Barb, his devotion to Nascar, and his overwhelming addiction to bacon! I am proud to have known him, and proud to have been considered his friend. I will miss you Big Buddy! “Leave the light on, and save my seat, I’ll be right back”.
Lyle it’s been a long time but I will never forget your sense of humor and sweet spirit. Your wonderfully tasteful cakes ( including our M&M wedding cake). You will be missed.
