Marie Louise Quintel, 73, of Essexville, our loving, generous and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, August 18, 2014 at Heartland-Hampton. Marie was born in Sebewaing on January 2, 1941, the daughter of the late Franklin and Mina (Burgett) Gotham. She had a true love for music and was a gifted singer and harmonica player. Her great sense of humor, along with her nurturing ways will be kept alive in the hearts of her family and friends for generations to come. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Robert (Christine) Quintel, Dennis (Christina Zielinski) Quintel and Brenda (Gary) Guettler. She was the proud and loving grandma of Greg (Donna), Mike (Tanya), Rachel (Josh), Lance, Angie, Kaylyn, Timothy and Lisa. Also surviving are many great-grandchildren and her siblings, Frank (Gail), Pat (Ron), Don, Russ (Ruth), Bill (Mary Jo), Lynn, James (Clara), along with many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Marie was welcomed home to heaven by her siblings, Betty, Tootie, Bonnie and Duane. Marie’s family will be present to receive visitors on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 9:00 AM until her 10:00 AM Funeral Ceremony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. Private interment will be held in Silverlawn Cemetery in Sebewaing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Heartland Homecare or McLaren Hospice.
