Marjorie Ann (McInerney) Hayes, 69, of Essexville, was born into eternal life on the evening of Monday, October 5, 2015 at McLaren Bay Region. Marge was born in Bay City on October 15, 1945, the daughter of the late George and Dorothy (Walther) McInerney. Marge was a 1963 graduate of St. James, attended beauty school, and worked for thirty-five years at Dow Chemical Company as an office professional. After retirement, she continued lending her office skills at Glastender for another six years. She was united in marriage on November 25, 2011 to Gerald L. Hayes, who survives her. Throughout life, Marge was known for her dedication to others and her love for Scrabble and cross stitch. She touched countless lives as a lay minister, and as a hospice volunteer. She was the most awesome and devoted mother of Ann Lopez. In addition to Gerald and Ann, Marge leaves behind her step-sons, Michael and Jason Hayes; sisters, Marie (Ray) Simmer, Dorothy Ferrer, and Sally (Bud) Bailey; nieces and nephews, Mark, John, Karin, Cheryl, Tom, Jeff, Tim, Kim, Meridith and Patrick; mother-in-law, Adair Hayes; beloved dog, Gucci, and her granddog, Libby. In addition to her parents, Marge was welcomed home to heaven by her brothers, Charles (Mary Jean) McInerney and Joseph McInerney; niece, Lynn Simmer-Dvonch; father-in-law, Gerald V. Hayes, and brother-in-law, David Ferrer. Marge's family will be present to receive visitors on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Celebration of Life Cocktail Hour from 4:00 PM until 6:30 PM, followed by a 7:00 PM Vigil for the Deceased at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. On Thursday, October 8, 2015, Marge will be taken to St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church), 614 Pine St., Essexville, where visiting will continue from 9:00 AM until the time of her 10:00 AM Funeral Liturgy. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate with cremation to follow. Marge will later be laid to rest in St. Patrick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Humane Society of Bay County, St. Jude Thaddeus Parish or Save Brian's House. I will always remember Marge as a kind and loving person. She was always supportive and quick to smile. She was a beautiful woman, inside and out and will remain cherished in my memories. Where do I start? I dont think of my childhood without remembering Marge and Ann. That unique shed we tried to make a playhouse. Your with all the neighbors now, Doris, Sammy, Ray, Martha & Al, Al Kubziak &Anita…..u are up there having a social right now I bet. You’re so lucky to have had her this long Ann. God bless you!
