Martin R. Tessin

Passed away Thursday, April 28, 2011. Age 88 years. Martin Richard Tessin was born February 9, 1923 to the late Richard and Erna (Bock) Tessin. He married Agnes C. Neuenfeldt May 19, 1951. She predeceased him July 9, 2003. Martin was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hemlock. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Martin farmed in Hemlock most of his life and had worked at A.T. Ferrell for ten years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Surviving are one son and four daughters, Bruce Tessin of Hemlock, Judy (Gary) Dashkovitz of Saginaw, Lois Tessin of Hemlock, Faye (Jeff) Brown of Midland, and Lynn Tessin of Nashport, Ohio; three grandchildren, Scott (Melissa), Stephanie, and Emily; two great grandchildren, Logan and Emersyn; a brother, Walter (Shirley) Tessin; a sister, Elsie (Adam) Sherman; a brother-in-law, Marvin Neuenfeldt; and many other loving family members and friends.Funeral Service will take place 11 AM Monday May 2, 2011 at Zion Lutheran Church, 17927 Dice Road in Hemlock. Rev. Paul Hauser will officiate with interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Military honors under the auspices of VFW Post 7302 will be observed at the church. Friends and family will gather at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Road (South M-47) on Saturday from 5-8 PM, on Sunday from 2-8 PM and at the church on Monday one hour before the service. Memorial offerings are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church or the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Saginaw.
