Mary Ann O'Hara

mary o'hara
Mary Ann O’Hara, 82, of Bay City, our empathetic, kind, and loving wife, mother, grandma, and GG was born into eternal life on the morning of Monday, September 25, 2017 at McLaren Bay Region. Mary Ann was born in Oscoda, where her heart always remained, on April 30, 1935, the daughter of the late James and Kathleen (Trudell) Trigger. She was a 1953 graduate of St. Joseph High School. While in high school, she met Donald Vincent O’Hara. They dated, fell in love, and Mary Ann was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart on October 1, 1955 in St. Joseph Church. She retired from McLaren Bay Region, where she worked as both a ward clerk and a pharmacy technician. Throughout life, faith always remained important to Mary Ann. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Parish (St. Mary of the Assumption Church). In her younger years, Mary Ann enjoyed golfing and bowling. She also enjoyed the casino, ceramics, bingo, and most of all spending time crocheting with her girls. M.A.’s family was the light of her life. She will forever be remembered for her caring, generous, and nurturing ways. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of nearly 62 years, Don O’Hara and their children: Kathleen “Kitty” (James) Newsham, Mary Margaret “Meg” (Gary) Seymour, Patrick (Jane) O’Hara, and Molly (Timothy) Fitzgerald. Mary Ann was the loving grandmother of Brandon (Laura) Newsham, Ryan (Sarah)Fitzgerald, John Paul Newsham, Shannon Fitzgerald, Patrick Jr. (Carrie) O’Hara, Chris (Amy) Runberg, Katie (Kyle) Jankens, Brendan Seymour, and the wonderful “GG” of Ayden, Riley, Logan, Marisa, Lorin, Keagan, Deklan, Callan, Gabe, Mika, and Malcolm. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Catherine Casey, along with several nieces and nephews. M.A. was the loving “Muggidy Ann” (sister) of Nancy & Roger McGuire, who preceded her in death, along with her parents; her son, James Brendan; great-grandson, George; mother and father-in-law, Kenneth & Marie O’Hara, along with her in-laws, June & Cliff Russell and Clarence Casey. Mary Ann’s family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Vigil for Mary Ann at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N.
