Mary Louise Jacques Preslupski, 86, of Saginaw, our caring and kind mother and Grandma Mary passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Edgewood Assisted Living. Mary was born in Saginaw on August 22, 1932, the daughter of the late Glenn and Beatrice (Gaus) Muehlenbeck. On August 1, 1970, Mary was united in marriage to Stephan Preslupski, who preceded her in death on October 17, 2015. She was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church. Mary’s main joy was being a stay at home mom until the passing of Jerry at which time, having the responsibilities of three small children, she took a job at Consumers Energy. After years of being on her own the Lord blessed her with meeting Stephan and his two children. They married and formed one big happy blended family. Mary retired from Consumers Energy in 1987 after twenty years of service. In her younger years, Mary and Stephan enjoyed golfing, mall walking, and traveling to Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe. Those who knew Mary will forever remember her easygoing and down to earth ways. She was always there for everyone and had an ability to relate to people from all walks of life. Mary leaves to carry on her legacy, her children: Gary (Linda) Jacques, Connie Bush, Julie (Randy) DeShone, Stephanie (Stephen) Jarvis, and Stephan Preslupski; three grandchildren, Eric (Jennifer) Jacques, Heather Jacques Beson, and Brandi Goodman, and her great-grandchildren, Bailey, Brennah, Kiran, Brady, Spencer, Zoe, and Madelyn. In addition to her parents and husband, Stephan, Mary was welcomed home to heaven by her first husband, Gerald Jacques, who preceded her in 1965. Mary’s family will be present to receive visitors on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 10:00 AM until Mary’s 11:00 AM Funeral Ceremony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services (formerly Reitz-Herzberg), 1550 Midland Rd., between State and Gratiot. Chaplain Cory Hamilton will officiate with interment to follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Special Olympics, Alzheimer’s Association, or American Cancer Society. The entire family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Edgewood Assisted Living (Mary’s extended family) and The Medical Team Hospice for their compassionate care. Gary, I was so sorry to learn of your mothers passing. My earliest memories of her were as a young child at my families home on Louise st.,when she and Jerry and Harvey jr. &Bea,and Russ were visiting with George & Betty. When I was told it was bedtime, and told to say goodnight, I gave Mary a kiss, which caused a round of embarassing, the event for me at the age of three, laughter. But your mother was most gracious and reassuring, telling me it was gentlemanly, which made me feel much better, and easier to leave the room with my dignity intact. Visiting with family at other gatherings, Mary’s sense of humor and ready smile always seemed to brighten the event. But my memory of her will remain my earliest of her understanding and grace. Again, I’m so sorry to learn of Mary’s passing.
